What We’re All About:

  • Small Classes: 8-12 learners per class.

  • Individualised Learning: Every child’s journey is unique. We tailor education to each learner’s needs.

  • Holistic Growth & Balance: We focus on academic, emotional, social, physical and communicative development.

  • Broad-Ranging Expertise & Collaboration: Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively on a case-by-case basis.

  • Supportive Community: We are a community in which learners and families feel seen, supported and valued.

  • Joy in Learning: Through curiosity, structure and play, we inspire children to love learning and believe in themselves.

  • Resilience and Growth: We celebrate perseverance and teach our learners that life’s challenges can lead to the sweetest successes.

  • Specialised Streams: Ferguson House has three distinct streams to ensure that each learner is able to find a place within our school that is optimally suited to their unique needs.

OUR STORY

Ferguson House was founded by Lea Ferguson in 2015. The vision was to create an environment in which every child can thrive, regardless of their challenges. In the years that followed, Lea assembled a dedicated team united by a common goal: to create a school that blends play, curiosity and meaningful learning with a strong child-specific focus. It soon became clear that there was an urgent need in Cape Town for the individualised approach to education that the school had begun refining. Driven by the emerging purpose of serving students who have been failed by one-size-fits-all models, Ferguson House has continued to help children learn in a vibrant, supportive community.
